Oh boy….
I’m only five days into this Pirate Mom thing, and I have to go and change everything. I’m sorry if you had already become attached to my teal background/orange paisley/notebook looking deal. I had become attached already, and it saddened me to have to change. But that darn theme just would not cooperate with me!
I’ve learned a lot in the past few days about hosting and developing your own site. I didn’t know that all WordPress themes do not function the same. And while the Notepad theme was great with graphics, it was not so great with plug-ins, widgets and other blog goodies that I wanted to utilize.
So, I found this one. Big D says it looks more pirate-ish anyway. So we’ll see how it looks and feels over the next few days. In the mean time, don’t get too attached….

I love WordPress because it’s so customizable. If you’re using a PC, I know that I used to really like using “Livewriter” to post blogs with WordPress. However, I think now the WordPress dashboard has improved to the point of being really useful on it’s own.
Great site … great content … you’re in my Google Reader!
Thanks, Bernie!
Yeah, I’m using a PC…but you’re right. So far I’m not having any problems with blogging within the dashboard. It’s soooooooo much easier than the other site I’d been using. And then of course, I have a great creative license which I’d craved for a long time. I’m amazed that I’ve gotten this far by myself with this, but everything I’ve used, from my hosting site to WordPress, has been very dummy-user-friendly.
I do like the look of this – very piratey!
Arg…I never get attached to other people’s blog formats. If this works for you, it works for me. I’m more concerned about the words than the format. The words are usually very entertaining.
I like both! But I’m all for whichever keeps you blogging!
It’s great! Looks like a cannonball blew a hole threw your wall and you’ve appeared in the void to announce just who’s blog this is. Very pirate-like.
I actually started a blog at Blogger just to see what it was like and now I’m hearing lots of good things about WordPress. Too many choices! I don’t know what to do!! I have to confess that I did like your other colours, but I also like the black/gray/white scheme too, it’s kind of classy.
